Jewelry Storgage – Necklace Edition

Having too much jewelry is certainly never a problem but storing it can be.  When it comes to how and where to keep your precious necklaces there are a few things to keep in mind.  One they can get tangled very easily so I find hanging your necklaces up works best.  That way you can also easily see what you have.  I like the idea of hanging necklaces on hangers in my closet like they are clothes.  That way it also makes it easy to see how the necklaces work with your outfits.  Another option is on a coat hanger or bulletin board.  My favorite way to display necklaces is on a figurine around the house.  All great options that allow you to see the pieces individually.  Tell me how do you store your jewelry?

It Girl of the Month: Kimmy Erin

It Girl: noun – A girl who possesses some seriously bad-ass style, knows exactly who she is, and has a sixth sense about what’s going to be the next hottest trend.

We met Kimmy Erin at a Youtube Vlogger Conference a few months back and she’s been on our radar every since. Her style is seriously cute and we can’t get enough of her Youtube Videos (trust us, check them out). We talked to Kimmy about her favorite trends of the moment, style pet peeves, and what her desert island most haves are.

What most treasured jewelry item you have? My mom, of eternal fantastic taste, brought me beautiful tiny bow 24K gold earrings from a little boutique in Paris when I first got my ears pierced at 9. I not only still have them, but wear them from time to time. They’re just the sweetest, classiest, tiniest little bows.

What jewelry piece should every girl have? Jewelry is SO PERSONAL. I always keep a piece on me, even at the risk of it not working with the outfit, that keeps the people I love close to me. My family is represented with a ring I’ve worn since my 13th birthday, my boyfriend with a pyrite and diamond necklace or petite letter earrings in my top holes we found in Brooklyn.

The Diary Pick: We think the Mattlin Era Amy Ring is the perfect cocktail ring for the new year that every girl should have!

Favorite trend or the moment? Jewelry wise, I’m such a fan of Indian diamonds and silver, mixing metals, and taxidermy influences. I so want to put a bird claw on it. I love a lightly tarnished, rock n roll look even with my expensive jewelry. Fashion-wise, I love playing with laser-cut clothing, I’m all about it.  I love laser cutting!!!

The Dairy Pick: We love the bird claw and taxidermy trend as well that’s why we can’t get enough of the House of Harlow Crystal Talon Ring.

What’s your style no-no? I have MANY: overkill matching, magenta, black socks, cheap pantyhose, stiff hair, cheap zippers!

Trapped on a desert island what are the three pieces you would bring? A lightweight utility/safari jacket with hood and drawstring and tons of pockets, super durable military boots, and does my iPhone count? If not, then a fab gold bikini.

Winter Stylist Series: Erika Marie of Fashion Chalet

We’re back this week with a new Stylist Series from Erika Marie of Fashion Chalet. Last week Kathryn of The Blonde and The Brunette showed us her perfect winter look. Today Erika rocks pieces from GLAMboutique’s exclusive lines Mattlin Era and Ever Eden, as well as Glamhouse staples from Low Luv and Hosue of Harlow. Hear in Erika’s own words her perfect winter style and the jewelry to complete that look:

To me, my style is all about laid back, casual, cool meets bohemian girly. I like to mix things up with splashes of colors.

For my two looks I wanted to contrast the darker hues of my outfits with pops of colors and standout jewelry pieces. I’m a fan of statement pieces, I like thin, pretty rings and chunky necklaces.

My style is mainly classic with some edgy details. That’s why I love the Low Luv Thunderbird Charm Necklace and Mattlin Era Leon Fish Necklace. The pieces I choose for the Stylist Series all have out of the box designs. I selected charm necklaces and funky cuffs like the Ever Eden Mandorla Cuff for their intricate designs.

No mater what the ensemeble is jewelry can complete your look, tying everything together. Jewelry is the frosting on the cake! Don’t forget you can shop the looks by mousing over the images!
